| De mogelijkheden van podcasts binnen je onderwijs - Dave van Toor (RGL)

| Dave van Toor, universitair docent straf(proces)recht bij het Willem Pompe Instituut voor Strafrechtswetenschappen van het departement Rechtsgeleerdheid, gebruikt sinds enige tijd podcasts binnen zijn onderwijs. Hoe pakt hij dit aan en wat levert het op?

| Animaties maken met Powtoon
|
| Soms vraagt de leerstof om visualisatie. Een animatie kan je helpen om de informatie met behulp van beelden beter over te brengen. Sinds een tijdje kunnen zowel docenten als studenten binnen de UU animaties maken met het online programma Powtoon. Het programma biedt naast plaatjes, bewegingen en muziek ook vele templates om zelf scènes mee te maken en de vrijheid om eigen materiaal te uploaden.

Wil je graag aan de slag met kennisclips binnen je onderwijs? Op de UU zijn verschillende DIY-studio’s waar je opnames kan maken. Deze studio’s zijn zo gebouwd dat je hier gemakkelijk zelfstandig aan de slag kunt:

- DIY Universiteitsbibliotheek Uithof Studio 2.48
- DIY Bolognalaan 101 Studio 2.042
Je kunt deze studio’s reserveren via Resourcebooker. In Resourcebooker vind je ook informatie over wie je kunt contacteren als je praktische ondersteuning kunt gebruiken bij de opname.

| Nieuw jaar, nieuwe ideeën!
|
Wil je dat je studenten beter voorbereid naar college komen of heb je behoefte aan meer interactie tijdens contactonderwijs? Wil je digitaal toetsen, schriftelijke opdrachten digitaal beoordelen of online de communicatieve vaardigheden van je studenten verbeteren?
Educate-it ondersteunt docenten technisch, praktisch én didactisch bij het (her)ontwerp en het blended maken van hun onderwijs en het met beschikbare IT-tools nog meer te versterken.
Heb je een idee, maar weet je niet waar te beginnen? Maryse Leloup en Kim Mastwijk, beiden onderwijskundig adviseur bij Educate-it, denken graag met je mee en kunnen je doorverwijzen naar de juiste ondersteuning. Neem gerust contact met ons op!

Sinds november kunnen docenten (en andere medewerkers) van de UU gebruikmaken van de nieuwe votingtool Wooclap. Dit is de opvolger van Mentimeter en heeft veel overeenkomstige functionaliteiten.
Met Wooclap kunnen de studenten tijdens een college via hun telefoon of laptop vragen beantwoorden die de docent stelt. Ook kan Wooclap gebruikt worden voor het uitvragen van de mening van studenten over verschillende stellingen, het matchen van informatie (bv. van een begrip aan een betekenis) of het maken van een woordenwolk.

| Versterk-je-onderwijs-week: 31 januari t/m 4 februari 2022
|
Twee keer per jaar kunnen UU-docenten tijdens de Versterk-je-onderwijs-week (VJOW) een grote diversiteit aan workshops en lezingen volgen, gericht op de versterking van hun onderwijs. De komende wintereditie vindt plaats van 31 januari tot en met 4 februari 2022.
Wil je alles weten over het nieuwe Videoplatform UU, waarmee je gemakkelijk kennisclips kunt opnemen, bewerken en delen met studenten? Of hoe je feedbackprocessen kan optimaliseren? Of wil je meer leren over hoe je je onderwijs moet evalueren? Dit zijn nog maar een paar voorbeelden van het brede en actuele aanbod.

- MS Teams nieuwe manieren biedt om je PowerPoint presentatie te delen? Zo kan je een presentatie delen naast je eigen scherm, waarbij zowel de presentatie als de presentator in een kader wordt getoond in een 75% - 25% verhouding. Bekijk de laatste informatie over updates binnen Teams in de kennisbank.
- In de Wegwijzer ondersteuning digitaal onderwijs te vinden is waar je met (technische) vragen over o.a. (online) onderwijs, AV-middelen of werkgroepruimtes met een hybride functie terecht kan?
- Je zelfstandig vanuit huis een kennisclip kan opnemen met je mobiel? Zo kan je wanneer het jou uitkomt, met veelal kwalitatief goed beeld en geluid, een clip opnemen en vervolgens publiceren via het UU videoplatform.
- De drie onderwijsruimtes van de toekomst, ofwel de Future Learning Spaces, voor iedereen binnen de UU te reserveren zijn? Als docent krijg je extra ondersteuning van een multidisciplinair team, zodat je binnen je onderwijs optimaal gebruik kan maken van de mogelijkheden van deze ruimtes.
- Middelbare scholieren elkaar betere feedback geven als daarvoor instructievideo’s worden gebruikt?
- 10 maart de jaarlijkse Onderwijsparade zal plaatsvinden? Dit jaar worden er o.a. lezingen en workshops gegeven over het thema ‘Innovation and scholarship: driving force of our education’.
- Je met (algemene) vragen rondom auteursrecht terecht kan bij Auteursrechtinformatiepunt (AIP) van de universiteitsbibliotheek?

| Creating animations with Powtoon
|
| Sometimes, the subject matter requires visualisation. An animation can help you to better convey information by means of images. For some time now, lecturers and students at Utrecht University have been able to create animations by making use of the online Powtoon tool. This tool offers many easy ways to design animations using pictures, movements and music as well as the option to upload your own material.

Would you like to start applying knowledge clips to your teaching activities? At Utrecht University, we boast several DIY studios where you can record your own clips. These studios are set up in such a way that it is easy to do this without further support:

| Getting started with Wooclap
|
Since November, UU staff can make use of the new voting tool Wooclap. Wooclap is the successor to Mentimeter and has many similar features.
Wooclap allows students to use their phones or laptops to answer questions posed by the lecturer. Wooclap can also be used to have students give their opinion on various statements, to match information (e.g. terms and meanings) or to create a word cloud.

| Strengthen-Your-Education-Week: 31 January to 4 February 2022
|
Twice a year during the ‘Strengthen-Your-Education-Week’, teachers at UU are invited to attend a wide variety of workshops and lectures aimed at strengthening their teaching. The upcoming Winter Edition will take place from 31 January to 4 February 2022.
Would you like to know everything about the new UU Video Platform allowing you easily to record, edit and share knowledge clips with your students? Or learn how to optimise the feedback processes? Or find out more about assessing your own teaching activities? These are just a few examples of the current broad range of workshops on offer.

- MS Teams offers new ways to share your PowerPoint presentations? You can now, for example, share a presentation plus your own screen, thus showing the presentation and the presenter within one frame at a 75% - 25% ratio. Check out the latest information on MS Teams updates in the Knowledge base.
- In the Guide to Digital Education Support you can find information on where to go with (technical) questions about e.g. (online) education, AV resources or workgroup rooms with a hybrid function?
- You can also record knowledge clips from home using your mobile phone? In this way, you can record clips at your convenience, with usually good quality images and sound, and upload them onto the UU video platform.
- The three education rooms of the future, known as the Future Learning Spaces, are available to everyone at UU? As a teacher, you will receive additional support from a multidisciplinary team, allowing you to make optimal use in your teaching activities of the opportunities these spaces provide.

- The annual Education Parade will take place on Thursday 10 March 2022? This year's theme is 'Innovation and scholarship: the driving force of our education'.
