Financial compensation for study delays due to force majeure
If you are a full-time student and fell behind schedule in your studies in 2022-2023, due to circumstances beyond your control, for example due to (chronic) illness or special family circumstances, you might be eligible for financial compensation from Utrecht University. The application deadline is 31 January 2024.
You can only apply for financial compensation (or graduation support) after the academic year in which you incurred the delay, has finished. You may apply for support in the following cases::
- Illness
- Exceptional family circumstances
- Pregnancy and child-birth
- Disability or chronic illness
- Insufficient feasibility of the programme
- Hardship clause / Other
Payment
You will only receive support if you were enrolled as a full-time student at Utrecht University in 2022-2023 (and tuition fees were paid to UU). Were you enrolled at another institution of higher education last year? If so, apply for financial assistance there.
