Posthumus Conference 2025 in Nijmegen, 27-28 May 2025'The People vs Structures'
|
We are pleased to announce the Posthumus Conference 2025 will take place on 27 and 28 May 2025 at Radboud University Nijmegen. The theme of his year's edition will be 'The People vs Structures'. What does it mean for someone to be enslaved, to live in an early-modern empire, to have property rights, to do business surrounded by uncertainty, to experience environmental change, to move from the countryside to the city, or to work in a coal mine that is closed down? The theme of the conferences allows a reflection on how legal systems, institutions, and practices have influenced social and economic conditions, as well as how people have influenced these legal regimes. Our hosts will be Dries Lyna and Joris van der Tol. We are looking forward to meeting you there, keep a close eye on the conference website and our newsletters!
