Announcement ceremony

This year, the announcement ceremony was fortunately able to take place on location in the University Hall again for the public. It was also possible to follow the ceremony online. Ronald Bleys, chairman of the jury for the Teacher Awards, addressed the winners in the Aula. Colleagues, friends and students of the winners were on location or watched at home via the livestream.

The teachers in the election are nominated by their student associations. These students put a lot of work into the nomination process every year. Some of them were present at this festive ceremony. The official prize ceremony will take place during the University’s Anniversary Day on 26 March.

Outstanding Teacher of the Year 2022

David Onnekink is a lecturer Early Modern International Relations in the Department of History and Art History. In his teaching, he tries to focus on the stories of students and on three goals: to be recognized, to be heard and to be inspired. His commitment to students is also expressed in his role as tutor coordinator and as bachelor coordinator of the History programme.
