Getting started with interdisciplinarity in your teaching? Start with a pressure cooker!
Interdisciplinary learning involves challenges that demand specific skills from students, such as being able to reflect on one's own discipline, empathise with another (disciplinary) perspective and make connections between knowledge and insights from different disciplines. This demands a different way of learning from students, but also a different way of teaching from teachers. A pressure cooker is a kind of simulation that helps to quickly become familiar with the interdisciplinary method.

Why focus on internationalisation?
As part of her role as (former) T@UU council member, Lorena De Vita focused her efforts on the subject of internationalisation. In collaboration with project leader T@UU Femke van de Glind, she delivered a report that grew from many conversations – formal and informal, online and offline, in smaller and bigger groups – with students and colleagues about the hot topic internationalisation. The report shares bottom-up feedback about internationalisation at UU and offers some ideas that can be helpful for handling internationalisation at various levels.
