A look back at the HER Symposium: the hidden curriculum |
| On Tuesday 14 April, the Higher Education Research focus area organised a symposium on the hidden curriculum: the often invisible assumptions underlying our education system. During the keynote, participants learnt how certain rules, depending on factors such as social position and perspective, can either strengthen or hinder a sense of belonging. Participants then explored these hidden dynamics in greater depth during three workshops. |

SIG CEL: reciprocal collaboration in practice |
| When teachers and students collaborate with societal partners in education, we aim to do so on a reciprocal basis as much as possible; this is also emphasised in the Utrecht Education Model. Reciprocity means collaborating without hierarchy, where everyone learns from one another and the collaboration is valuable for everyone. How does this work in practice? Join the discussion at the SIG Community Engaged Learning session on Monday 1 June 2026. |

The course offers beginning supervisors practical tools and educational insights into roles, communication, feedback, and expectation management. |
