Jelte works as a scientific developer at the Research Sofware Lab of the Centre for Digital Humanities. There, he develops custom software for humanties research. He has a drive to support and teach about digital methods in the humanities and is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with both scholars and engineers. He has a background in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Psychology.
Examples of his current development projects are the text-mining application I-analyzer, and the innovative, RDF-based tool for annotation and analysis of reading experiences READ-IT. He teaches the course Programming in Python twice a year, and is often present at the walk-in hours of the Centre for Digital Humanities to provide live support with any programming problems or questions.
