Do you enjoy contributing to the education and policies of the Humanities faculty in addition to your studies? Each year, new student representatives are there to serve the students of our faculty. Apply now for one of the following positions:

As a student representative, you have a say in education and will learn how the faculty works. This way, you will ensure that the student perspective is included in the development of policy. You can apply until May 1, 2024.

Which vacancies can you apply for?


Curriculum Committee member (2-4 hours a week)

In the Curriculum Committee (OC), lecturers and students of a program jointly discuss the quality of education within that study programme. The OC gives solicited and unsolicited advice on education-related matters, reviews course evaluations and has a say in the Education and Examination Regulations. Mail the program committee of your study for more information, or watch this video on the work of the OC.

Student member Board of Studies (4 hours a week)

In the Board of Studies, you will participate in discussions about educational changes within the faculty. You deal with different topics, such as digital literacy, (international) student welfare or plans for educational innovation. As a student member, you advise the education directors and vice deans, both on request and on your own initiative.

Departemental assessor (4-8 hours a week)

The departmental assessor deals with education and student interests in a department. You advise the departmental board on matters concerning students, maintain contact with the OC and possibly collaborate on various projects within the department. You can only become an assessor in the department of your own study programme.

Faculty student assessor (16 hours a week)

As a student-assessor, you are a member of the faculty board and advise on education and other issues that are important to students. You have a say in faculty policy and include student interests in decision making. You are the spider in the web between students, study associations, the faculty board, faculty staff and the faculty council. You may also initiate your own projects in order to make improvements in the faculty. This position is especially suitable for students who already have some administrative experience, or have held other positions of student representation.

University student assessor (full time)

As a student-assessor to the Executive Board, you will help discuss university policy, focusing mainly on education- and student-related matters. You advise the Executive Board and bring the student perspective into the decision-making process. You maintain good relations with students within the university and are well-informed of what is going on among them. With this knowledge, you make an important contribution to decision-making at the university level. There is also plenty of room for personal input and your own projects. Please note: this position is particularly suitable for students who already have administrative experience, or have held other positions within student representation. 

As a student-assessor to the Executive Board, you participate in discussions about university policies, focussing primarily on education- and student-related matters. You advise the Executive Board and highlight the student perspective in decision-making. You maintain good relations with students within the university and are well aware of what is going on among students. With this knowledge, you make an important contribution to decision-making at the university level. There is also plenty of room for your personal input and your own projects. Compensation

As a student representative, you will receive compensation. This depends on which position you hold. The drop down below shows exactly how much this is for this academic year. Next academic year these amounts will remain about the same, but changes slightly up/down are possible.
