Mobile bike repair at the USP in November and December |
Flat tyre or did your bike chain break? Visit the mobile bicycle repair shop and have your bike repaired at various locations in and around USP. At this mobile bike repair shop, you can have your bike repaired or serviced at your own expense. You can drop by on the day in the morning or make an appointment in advance. The bicycle mechanic will be on location from 08:00 to 15:00 hours.

Apply for a ROSANNA Fund scholarship |
Talented female students can ask for financial support to achieve their next professional step. For example: a scholarship for a female student to get a PhD or postdoc, help with publications or study trips abroad or support in obtaining a permanent position or professorship. Scholarships are usually between €1,000-€5,000. Several scholarships are awarded per year. Apply no later than 1 December. |

Want to dip your toes into entrepreneurship from a Science perspective? In this new course series, you'll get the tools to flourish as a Science Entrepreneur. Across three courses, you'll learn what entrepreneurship entails, which ideas can be successful, and how to, for example, set up a start-up. |

Making brains generate their own therapeutics could be a promising approach to slowing or even stopping the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Researcher Niels Reinders has shown in lab experiments that this approach could work. Now, he’s focused on turning this idea into a treatment. In the tv show Briljante Breinen on Videoland Reinders shares not only his research but also his relationship towards the disease. |

Peter Dung, a physicist, recently started as the UU coordinator of the Rethink Hydrogen project which focuses on developing methods to facilitate dialogue among key players in the rapidly expanding green hydrogen industry. "Academically and practically, I'm shifting towards the study of complex systems and tackling them. For me, the green hydrogen debate is just another example of such a system." |

Participate in an experiment by playing a game with this robot |
Joséphine Mélot-Chesnel and Timea-Noémi Nagy are investigating communication in collaborative human-robot teams and need participants for their experiment.
What will you be doing? You will be playing a game with the robot, followed by a survey. Although the slots are 30 minute-long, the experiment should only take about 15 minutes from start to finish, and the additional time is there to cushion between participants. Your participation is compensated with 3 to 5 euros, depending on the bonuses collected during the game.

Code with AI Sinterklaas Hackathon – November 28 and 29 |
In this two-day event, you will learn how AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT are applied in real-world software development, and work in small teams on a hands-on project guided by SUE engineers. Enjoy networking opportunities throughout the event, and as a bonus, your contributions will support a charity focused on equal learning opportunities. The event is open to both new and experienced student programmers. The first day (28 November, 13:00-17:00) takes place at UU, and the second day (29 November, 10:00-17:00) at SUE. Transportation, lunch, dinner, and drinks are included.
