Introduction of extra non-teaching weeks: ‘Recharge weeks' |
|
| Following feedback from hundreds of students, the Faculty of Science has decided that, from 1 September 2027, there will be an extra non-teaching week in period 1, 2 and 3: the Recharge Week. This means that these periods will be shortened from ten to nine weeks, including exams and practicals. The decision applies to all Bachelor’s and Natural Sciences Master’s programmes within the faculty. It does not currently apply to the Master of Pharmacy or the Life Sciences Master's programmes. |

The Biology student reflects, amongst other things, on the use of AI and the mental workload faced by science students: "People mainly see that science degrees are academically demanding, but they don't always realise how much energy it takes to think analytically all the time. You're constantly processing information." |
