Join us for the Student Empowerment session during the Teaching and Learning Inspiration Days |
How to empower students to take learning into their own hands? It’s the idea of creating an environment where students want to learn rather than have to learn. But if we want students to be creative, self-directed learners we need to go beyond student engagement and into empowerment. This is the core idea of switching from teacher centered to student centered. Of course, this asks a change, time investment and another role of the teacher. In this interactive session, we will dive into the concept of student empowerment, give a student perspective on this, and provide useful tools for teachers in the implementation process.

Mobile Hybrid Set Telebuddy enables active participation in education in fieldwork!
|
From Future Learning Spaces, an innovative mobile set has been developed for hybrid education at remote locations. This is education where part of the student group is e.g. on fieldwork or excursion and another part of the group cannot participate due to travel, physical or other limitations. The set consists of a harness with video and audio equipment operated by a trained support person, the Telebuddy. The teacher and students on site can see and hear the online students through the Telebuddy, making interaction easy. Would you like to know more or try out? Contact us at fls@uu.nl.
